Advertising disclosure: commission, placement and what it never changes
Some links on this site are advertising. This page explains who may pay us, what that can change, and what it cannot.

The short version
Rivoatlas is funded by advertising. Some bookmakers may pay IT PROFESSIONAL AND OTHER BUSINESS SOLUTION LIMITED a fee when someone registers with them after clicking through from this site. You do not pay us anything, and following a link does not change the bookmaker’s terms for you.
Commission can affect which licensed bookmakers we cover and where their links appear. It cannot affect what we publish about them: licence facts, scores, weights and the words “we could not confirm” are the same whether or not a bookmaker pays us.
How we earn money
Links to bookmakers on this site carry a partner reference, so the bookmaker can see that the visit started on Rivoatlas. If the visitor registers, the bookmaker may pay a commission under its partner programme. The amount and the basis of payment are set by each programme; we do not publish them.
We do not sell scores, placements in the score order, reviews or articles. We do not accept payment to remove a fact, a sanction or a “we could not confirm” from an operator file.
How advertising links are marked
- Lists and cards of bookmakers carry an Advertising label above them, with a link to this page.
- Buttons that leave the site read “Visit” and the bookmaker’s name. They open the bookmaker’s site for Ireland in a new tab.
- The row of bookmaker logos above the footer of most pages is advertising and is labelled as such.
- In the page code, every link to a bookmaker is marked
rel="sponsored", so search engines can tell it is a commercial link. - Links to regulators, laws and help services carry no partner code and earn nothing.
The Responsible gambling page and the age page carry no bookmaker links at all.
What commission can affect
- Which GRAI-licensed bookmakers have an operator file. Being on the register is required for every file, but we do not cover every licence holder.
- The order of the bookmaker logos above the footer.
- Which bookmakers we add first when we extend the atlas.
Lists in the atlas that are sorted by score are sorted by the score alone. How that score is built is on the Methodology page.
What it never affects
- Licence facts: company, licence number, activity, dates and trading names come from the GRAI register.
- Scores and the weights of the six criteria.
- Whether we publish a sanction, an out-of-date term or a missing safer-betting tool.
- Whether we write “we could not confirm”.
- Removal. If a licence is no longer active on the register, the bookmaker’s links come down whatever our commercial relationship with it.
Who we link to
Every link to a bookmaker on this site goes to a company that holds a GRAI remote betting licence and whose site states that licence for customers in Ireland. We check that on the GRAI public register at least once a month; the last check was 4 October 2026.
We link to sports betting only. We do not link to casino games, to promotional offers or to pages that pre-fill a bet. The GRAI has not yet opened licensing for online casino games, so no online casino holds an Irish licence for them.
What we do not publish
- Promotional offers, incentives or codes of any kind. This is a policy decision: offers change too often to keep accurate, and their purpose is to encourage betting.
- Predictions or odds for real future events.
- Paid articles or content written by bookmakers.
- Reader or customer reviews.
Why we tell you this
Irish consumer law treats undisclosed paid promotion, and paying for a higher ranking without saying so, as prohibited practices (Consumer Protection Act 2007, s. 55(1)(q) and (qa)). The advertising code also expects marketing to be recognisable as marketing. Apart from the rules, a reference atlas is only useful if you know who pays for it.
The publisher is IT PROFESSIONAL AND OTHER BUSINESS SOLUTION LIMITED, company number 17296656, registered in England and Wales. Rivoatlas is not a bookmaker and does not hold a gambling licence.
