Disclaimer: limits of the information in the atlas
The atlas reports what the GRAI register and the bookmakers publish, with dates. It is not advice, and it cannot tell you more than its sources do.
What the atlas is based on
Every fact in the atlas comes from one of three kinds of source, and each operator file says which:
| Source | What it tells you | What it does not tell you |
|---|---|---|
| GRAI public register | Which company holds a remote betting licence, its number, the licence dates and the trading names recorded | How the bookmaker treats customers, how its prices compare or how it handles withdrawals |
| The bookmaker’s own pages for Ireland | Its terms and conditions, payment methods, safer-betting tools and complaints route, as it describes them | Whether it applies them the same way to every customer |
| Official texts | The Gambling Regulation Act 2024 and guidance published by GRAI | How a rule applies to your own case |
Rivoatlas is not a bookmaker and does not hold a gambling licence. We have not opened accounts or placed bets to test bookmakers, and the atlas does not say otherwise.
Dates and changes
Facts carry the date we checked them. The GRAI register was last checked on 4 October 2026; this page was last updated on 4 October 2026. We re-check the register for every listed bookmaker at least once a month and record additions and removals on Register changes.
Between two checks a licence can lapse, a trading name can change or a bookmaker can rewrite its terms. Before you open an account, check the register entry and read the bookmaker’s current terms yourself.
Operator statements
When a detail comes from a bookmaker’s own pages, we report it as stated — for example “as stated by the bookmaker in its terms dated …” — and do not present it as our finding. Stated processing times for payments are the bookmaker’s description; they depend on identity checks, the payment method and your bank.
Where a bookmaker’s public pages do not show something, the atlas says “we could not confirm”. That means the information was not published where we looked, not that the feature is missing.
Each bookmaker is responsible for its own products, terms, prices, payments and customer service.
Scores are opinions with a method
Each operator file has an atlas score from 0 to 10: a weighted sum of six criteria (Licence & register 30%, Safer-betting tools 20%, Payments & withdrawal terms 15%, Market coverage 15%, Pricing 10%, Support & complaints 10%). A criterion we have not scored yet is left out and the remaining weights are scaled up in proportion. The method and its reference points are published on our Methodology page.
A score is our judgement under that method on the date shown, not a measurement of how any reader will fare and not a recommendation. Commission may affect which bookmakers we show and in what order; it never changes a licence fact or a score (Advertising disclosure).
Betting involves risk
Betting costs money and most bets lose. Bookmakers build a margin into their prices, so over time the bookmaker comes out ahead. Set a deposit limit before you start, and never bet to win back losses.
If betting is causing problems for you or someone close to you, call the GamblingCare National Helpline on 1800 936 725 (free, 24/7) or the HSE Drugs & Alcohol Helpline on 1800 459 459 (Monday to Friday, 9:30 to 17:30). More services and tools are on our Responsible gambling page. The atlas is for adults aged 18 and over.
